Yes, in many cases if you have an HSA or FSA, you may be able to use those funds to pay for nutrition counseling. Coverage and eligibility vary by plan, so I recommend checking with your HSA/FSA administrator if you have questions.

No.
I offer appointments by phone or through my secure, HIPAA-compliant EHR platform, including phone and messaging options. Choose whichever works best for you.
Your first visit is a 60-min nutrition assessment where we get to know each other and talk about medical history, nutrition concerns, goals, eating patterns, lifestyle and any barriers. Together, we’ll identify priorities and create a personalized plan with practical next steps. We will establish a baseline with labs (if available), symptoms and other metrics. Then we will co-create a specific plan for you around 1-3 short-term goals to work towards your overall long-term outcomes. This is our foundation.
The follow-up appointments build on your foundation that we started in your first appointment. In the first few weeks, we will focus on structure, education and progress, and any challenges along the way. After we have built on that solid foundation, we will refine it. We will reflect on what’s working, make adjustments and troubleshoot barriers. We will check in on goals and edit or modify them as necessary. Ultimately, these sessions build practical, sustainable nutrition habits over time to support your long-term health.
Schedule your first appointment on my calendar. If you are on the fence, you can schedule a consult there instead.
Medical nutrition therapy (MNT) is personalized nutrition care provided by a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) to help prevent, manage or treat health conditions through nutrition. MNT begins with an assessment of your health history, eating patterns, symptoms, medications and other relevant factors. From there, your dietitian develops an individualized nutrition plan and works with you to monitor progress and make adjustments as needed.
MNT can support a wide range of health conditions (i.e. cancer, heart disease) and concerns. Recommendations are tailored to your individual needs, goals and circumstances.
There is no difference in the credential. RD (Registered Dietitian) and RDN (Registered Dietitian Nutritionist) are two titles for the same nationally recognized credential. Dietitians may choose to use either designation.
An “RDN” is a credentialed nutrition professional who has completed specialized education, supervised training and a national exam. “Nutritionist” is a broader term that doesn’t have one standardized credential. Read about the other titles below.
